چکیده

Abstract Food sterilization with ionizing radiation is a well-established technology, which constantly extending to several products due its numerous advantages. However, radiosterilization prohibited food categories, such as baby since it could cause nutrient degradation of foods significant effects on the infants’ health. As result, any governmental agency responsible for detection irradiated should first focus consumed by babies/children. To this respect, present work explores whether TL can be employed method post-sterilization dosimetry food, studying properties their glass containers they would equally and jointly exposed during process. Two different reputable brands, i.e., Hipp ® Nestle , are used purpose. Both exhibit linear dose response doses up 3 kGy, while no sensitization main peaks observed. Though behavior not very stable time (strong fading) yet fading correction possible. Dose recovery tests were successfully conducted, calculating administered high accuracy. A computerized curve deconvolution analysis (CCDA) was also performed revealing that all glow curves fitted one peak continuous trap distribution three discrete-energy peaks, demonstrate over range 50–3000 Gy. Thus, findings promising towards through containers.

Detection of food treated with ionizing radiation

Treatment of food with ionizing energy-'food irradiation'is finally becoming reality in many countries. The benefits include an improvement in food hygiene, spoilage reduction and extension of shelf-life. Although properly irradiated food is safe and wholesome, consumers should be able to make their own free choice between irradiated and non-irradiated food. For this purpese labelling is indisp...

Assessment of polymer composite reinforced with nanomaterial against ionizing radiation

Introduction: Unwanted exposure of ionizing radiation may result in carcinogenesis, cell mutations, and organ failure. High-atomic number elements such as lead, tungsten, bismuth have been traditionally used for radiation protection. Theoretical and practical studies have shown that a variety of shielding materials e.g. polymer composites (PCs) can be used for attenuation of th...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Detection of Ionizing Radiation using Solar Blind Air Fluorescence

This report looks at the feasibility of detecting radiation sources by using the photons produced by the ionization of the air surrounding the source. Some of these fluorescence photons are emitted in the UV solar blind spectral region which offers the possibility of detection in full daylight. A review of the basic technique is given as well as detailed radiation source simulations using the G...
